Pay Per Click - Things To Consider
By Jerry Leung
According to the experience of affiliate marketers, Par Per Click, or PPC advertising is very effective in order to promote the affiliate website. In fact, a lot of marketer make a lot of money because they can promote their websites very well using PPC. Yet you may not be aware that there are some good and also some bad PPC networks.
As a result, you need to choose a PPC network with your greatest care. Choosing a bad one will end up in wasting you money. You should stick to good programs. One of the options you can consider is Google Adwords.
You will need to apply Google Adwords account before using the PPC network. You will be able to launch a campaign immediately after you have applied for an account. In fact, there should be no difficulty in applying account and launching campaigns. There are details tutorials in the Internet and as a result we will not go into the details launching campaigns.
It is important to make your PPC campaign effective. To this end you will need to monitor your campaign very well. You have to study the statistics to find out the conversion rate. In order to make a good conversion rate, you will also need to tweak you adv from time to time. You will need to tweak both your landing page and details of the adv.
As an affiliate marketer, you are using the PPC campaign to promote your affiliate sites or landing pages. You are trying to do that in order to make more sales. As a result, you join some high paying affiliate programs in order to make the campaigns more cost effective. There is no point to launch campaign which is not really cost effective. You may even lose money if you do not plan your advertisements well. Remember, to advertise is like an investment. You have to think about how much you can get after you have invest a certain amount of money.
Some marketers will make serious mistakes when they launch a PPC campaign. Some of them will try to advertise a mirror site of the merchant. This is in fact a stupid decision. You should try to advertise your own website or landing page but not the mirror sites.
Apart from the above, some marketers will only try to go for the minimum bid when launching a campaign. This is not a good method indeed. What you should do is to bid for the keyword such that your website will appear in the first few places in the search result pages.

Adwords, Affiliate Marketing And Cashing In On The Xmas Spend
By Darren Yates
It”s going on right now.
The biggest Xmas spend online ever.
It stands to reason that each year more and more people get online. More of the people online begin using their credit cards to shop online and more of these shoppers realise the great convenience that shopping online offers. So they start to spend more on a wider variety of products and / or services.
So when Xmas comes around it makes more sense than ever to do the shopping online from the comfort of their home. They avoid the crowds, the traffic, stay in the warm, comparison shop, read online reviews and then get exactly what they want and get it cheaper too.
You can tap into this huge spending surge right now by utilizing Google Adwords and Affiliate schemes.
Things have changed at Google HQ when it comes to Adwords you can no longer link directly to an affiliate site.
You may now wonder how you can make any money with Adwords and affiliate schemes.
As it goes the change in policy at Adwords had zero effect on the most profitable affiliate promoters. In fact for the smart ones and even the not so smart ones it actually increased their profits!
How? well it”s simple.
The smart affiliates didn”t send their prospects directly to an affiliate site anyway. Instead they constructed their own site on which they presold the product or service they were promoting. By presell I mean they softly emphasised the benefits of the product, showed mouth-watering pictures, made comparisons to other similar products to emphasise the benefits of the product they were promoting. In essence they wrote a favourable, and what appeared to be an unbiased review.
You can do exactly the same. You don”t need a full site just a single landing page will do. You could even have a page for each affiliate product you”re promoting on the back of one of your existing sites.
The single biggest thing to keep in mind when you do this is that you must not go for the hard sell. Try to be unbiased and if there are bad points to the product you”re promoting via Adwords be sure to mention them.
In fact I”d go so far as to say, make sure you list something you”re not happy with.
I know that sounds nuts but it will give your review much more credibility than if you gushed overly enthusiastically about how great this product is.
Mention a bad point or a minor irritation but then be sure to follow with a major good point or qualify why exactly you didn”t like this one feature.
What should you promote?
You need something either with a good conversion or a high commission. Preferably both. You also need to find low cost keywords and lots of them if possible. That goes for anything you promote really.
Consider what people will be buying this Xmas. What has the largest price tag but is still in high demand?
Ideally stay away from the obvious e.g. ipods, Xbox”s etc there will be too much competition and so to high a click cost.
In conclusion the method of promotion mentioned above has served many people well and in fact resulted in, believe it or not, an annual six figure income for more than one lucky affiliate marketer.
Get your Adwords Xmas campaigns running now. Each day you hold of on starting your Xmas Adwords campaigns you loose money.

Why Use Pay Per Click Advertising?
By Darren Yates
1: Pay Per Click Advertising is by far the most direct marketing system ever invented. You actually get to place your ad directly in front of a prospect that has searched on a term related to your product or business. Your prospect is proactively looking for what you have to offer. You cannot get a more targeted form of advertising.
2: Market research has never been easier. You now have the opportunity with Pay Per Click advertising to measure a markets value quickly and cheaply simply by targeting a few ads at this market. With a few targeted Pay Per Click advertising campaigns you can now measure potential ROI across a whole market within a few days for pennies rather than the months and big bucks it used to demand.
3: Market to the planet or to your small hometown. With the introduction of local targeting last year Google have opened up a whole new opportunity for small businesses. If you offer a service such as a garage or hairdressers etc. before now there was little point in using Pay Per Click advertising. You can”t offer this service over the web. But now with local search you can pinpoint a district for which you would like your ad to appear. Your ad will then appear only to your most likely prospects. At the other extreme if you offer a product that is not reliant on physical location you can now get highly targeted visitor from across the planet or country.
4: If you have a new site you will struggle for a long time to get anywhere near a good listing in the search engines. Pay Per Click advertising will allow you to take your business straight to market the day your website goes live. Saving you months in potential lost earnings.
5: Recent innovations have seen Advertisers given more control in where their Adwords Ad will appear. You now have the option to advertise on specific sites. Even more recently site owners now also have the option to place a banner on their site advertising the opportunity to visitors to advertise there.
6: Variety. Although Adwords is the leading Pay Per Click advertising system it’’s by far the only one. Yahoo have their own system known as Yahoo Search Marketing, formally Overture. MSN are about to bring their new system online, MSN adCenter. Then there’’s Findwhat, LookSmart, Miva etc. Are your chosen keywords to costly on Adwords? Try one of the other Pay Per Click advertising networks.
7: Opportunity favours the quick and the prepared. Pay Per Click and online advertising spending in general is set rocket over the next few years as more and more businesses become disillusioned with the results of their traditional advertising avenues. By learning to utilize Pay Per Click advertising properly now you can position yourself to take advantage of future developments fast.
Conclusion
As more businesses come online SEO competition is hotting up. Google already implements a ”Sandbox” which will see new sites get very little traffic for 8 to 12 months after going live. The sandbox is a ”holding pen” for new sites. Google introduced the sandbox as a means to monitor and control new site listings. This was introduced as a defence against the rash of Spam sites that where appearing across the Net.
This being the case don”t expect a good ranking or any traffic from Google for a long time after your new site goes live.
Some cynics will accuse Google of leveraging their position as market leader in the Search Engine arena to force the owners of new sites to join the Adwords program as the only option for traffic from Google.
To be fair it has crossed my mind in the past but then I remember the Spam results Google suddenly started serving back in March 2004 and I”m thankful I don”t see those anymore, thanks in part to the Sandbox.

Explosive Adwords Ad Copywriting
By Darren Yates
The most important thing to remember here is that this is the door by which visitors enter your site. You must entice them to open it. This is their first contact with you.
You haven”t got much space so you have to make every word count.
Title max 25 characters,
2nd & 3rd line max 35,
display url 35,
destination url 1024
Try to avoid casual clicks, mention buy if appropriate. Stay clear of the number 1 spot this is inclined to attract casual clicks. Numbers 2,3,4,5 are the prime spots. Visitors clicking in this region have at least considered your ad before doing so.
Your ad should present the theme of your landing page. They should match as exactly as possible.
Use a call to action where possible -
Digital Camera
Save Now on a digital camera
Limited time offer
I cured my arthritis
Find out how
Buy my e-book Now
You can”t use click here.
Always keep in mind an old advertising rule - List benefits NOT features -
With so few words copywriting rules are very restricted for your ad but very important for your landing page.
This is where clarity, accuracy, targeting, and testing will pay off. You are not trying to persuade here, there isn”t space. Instead you are attempting to pre-qualify users with your ad by grabbing their interest and setting them up for what is to come next on your landing page.
You should also consider using a reassuring message that might cover their main objection - something like “free shipping”, new low price etc. or if you offer a product for sale when comparable products are free the mention of a price or the word ”buy” will filter out the people looking for a freebie and save you that click cost.
Focus your ad on your target prospect. Care for your customer he could buy from you again and again. Start by not patronizing him with your ad copy. Overly enthusiastic copy may be a turn off, but then again it depends on your target market. This approach may appeal to teenagers for example or time sensitive offers. A definite turn off on the other hand is overly familiar wording and hard sell.
What does work is an appeal to a persons self interest with the use of motivational words - The seven key copy drivers — hot buttons — which change human behavior, are: fear, greed, guilt, anger, exclusivity, salvation, flattery.
Appeal to people’’s self-interest further by using phrases such as:- Saving money, making money, winning at something, getting a deal, saving time, exclusivity, alleviating a health problem, beating the competition etc.
When it comes to ad performance based on the copy, track, track and track some more. The best tactic here is to write two ads per campaign and measure the performance of the two over a few days. Tweaking wording etc based on keyword performance and ROI.
Constantly review your ad copy based on performance.
Respect your prospect. Put yourself in their shoes. Would you click on that ad you”ve just written?
Overall remember when putting your ad together to double check everything, especially your target URL & spelling.

Does Pay-Per-Click Work?
By Jim Pretin
Promoting your internet business can be a tough task. The costs of traditional advertising are prohibitive. It can cost as much as $50,000 to run a print advertisement in a prominent publication. It can cost much more than that to produce and run a TV commercial, especially if the commercial airs during peak viewing hours. Online marketing is a problem too, because it is extremely difficult and takes a long time to climb to the top of the search engine rankings.
So, what should you do? Well, you will need to do rely on the same thing all internet businesses do when they first start out. Of course, we are talking about pay-per-click (PPC). By advertising with pay-per-click, you pay a certain price per click to be listed near the top of the first page of the search engines for your chosen keyword or phrase. Every time someone clicks on your PPC ad, you pay for that click.
If you have never used PPC before or do not know what it is, perform a search on any search engine and you will notice that at the top or to the side of the search results you will see a section called “sponsored links.” These are websites that are paying a certain amount per click to be listed there.
PPC can be very expensive depending upon what keyword you want to receive clicks for, but there are ways to budget your money wisely so you can maximize the effectiveness of your PPC marketing campaign without having a ton of money to spend. Some of the companies at the top of the sponsored links section might be bidding up to $20 per click for certain keywords. Insurance companies such as Geico and Progressive often bid up to $25 per click for the keyword “auto insurance.”
However, for most keywords, you can bid relatively low and still get a lot of clicks. Each PPC service has a traffic calculator that tells you how many clicks you will receive given a certain bid price and daily budget. So, if you want to spend $0.50 per click, you can put that bid into their traffic calculator and it will tell you how many clicks you can expect to receive at $0.50 per click and how much that will cost per day. The traffic calculator will also tell you what your position will be (the higher your bid price, the higher your position will be within the sponsored links section for that keyword).
There are several PPC programs that you can use to receive traffic. There is Google Adwords (spans several engines, including Jeeves, AOL, and Google), Overture (Yahoo and other engines), Miva, and many others. They are all reliable, and they will all deliver traffic to your website.
The most important part of PPC advertising is knowing what keywords or phrases to bid on. You have to remember that most people using a search engine are only looking for information, and are not seeking to buy a product or service. So, if you are using PPC to get traffic to your website in order to sell something, make sure you bid on a keyword that will bring you customers who are looking to make a purchase and are not there just to glean information. For example, if you are selling Vitamin A on your website, and you bid on the keyword “Vitamin A,” you are going to receive a lot of traffic from people who visit your website merely to read what is there, because they are probably just looking for information about Vitamin A and do not want to buy it. Instead, you should bid on the phrase “Buy Vitamin A.” In this manner, you will only receive qualified traffic from people that are looking to buy vitamin A, which will increase your sales and allow you to get more bang for your marketing buck.
PPC advertising is the most effective form of advertising on the internet, so you should use it when launching your new internet business. Just make sure that you bid within your budget and use specific keywords or phrases so that you will receive qualified traffic, and you will do fine.

Be Careful Not To Get Your Adsense Account Terminated Due To Click Fraud
By Matthew Meyer
Many webmasters have had their Google Adsense account terminated when they have done nothing wrong to their knowledge. Considering the money that they are getting from Adsense, they would certainly want to get back into it.
Considering the money to be made with Adsense, it is no wonder that they would want to get back into it.
It is that same consideration why the Google Adsense click fraud is thought of and why many people are getting into it.
Click fraud is the act of clicking on ads for the purpose of costing the advertiser money. It is simply the same as paying out cash for false leads. Many people website owners are aware of this fraud and are sharing the same sentiment that this is the one big problem that Adsense is facing.
How do you prevent being involved in this fraud?
Majority of web hosts are offering access logs. Once this is offered to you, it is necessary that you hand it over to Google as well. This allows them to look for any suspicious activity on your site. Problems like this are very serious and giving it to them is saying that you would want to help them in any way you can in solving the problem.
It can also help if you have a click monitoring software. If you do not have one yet, you should try and get one. There is absolutely no major factor preventing you from having one because most of this software is free.
As usual, all the information you have received should be turned over to Google. This is showing Google that you too are fighting against click frauds and is in no way a part of it.
Study your server logs and watch for any activity that seems suspicious. Report anything that you may find odd, may it big or small thing.
You may want to consider disabling ads for your own IP address and local geographic area. This will certainly prevent accidents and will not make Google mistake another user as you. You can do through a htaccess file. This will avoid Google mistaking as clicking on your own ads and be kicked out because of it.
Keep your Adsense off on pop ups and pop unders. Your ads should not be displayed on content sites that promote illegal activity or tampering of the legal rights of other people or business. Included in this are the content that is considered adult and gambling ones. If you think that you may be breaking this rule, immediately remove your content or Adsense from the web page.
Be truthful and confess up to Google about times when you might have clicked on your own as, whether accidentally or intentionally. Or the times when you have done something that is against the Terms of Service that they are implementing. Be honest about anything that you may have done that is wrong. Confessing is way better than Google learning about it eventually. It would mean eventual termination and no getting back what you have worked so hard for.
Do not tell your family or friends about Adsense on your website. Chances are they may start clicking on them to help you make money without you knowing it. They may be doing more harm to you than help by trying it in the first place.
If ever someone you know chanced upon your Adsense, make sure they understand that they cannot click on your ads under any circumstances. It would be wise to brief them on important things about Adsense and what not to do with them.
Most pay per click networks have different measures in hand to protect website owners against click frauds. Other search engines can track more than 50 data points, IP address, browser’’s information, users session info and pattern recognition. They also have systems available that detects fraud. Not to mention the specialized teams monitoring how things are going and helping advertisers stop click frauds.
Google offers suggestion on how to avoid click fraud. Using negative keywords can be used to keep your Adsense showing on products and services that are in no way related to yours. Adding tracking URLs to your links so you can track the traffic coming from Google.
Do not be caught in the Google click fraud. Be aware and be wary.
