Search Engine Optimisation; The Way To Online Profits

February 28, 2009 | Read the story »

By Thomas Pretty

Search engine optimisation is a term that is increasingly being heard in offices across the land. Businesses are now realising that to operate a successful online operation search engine optimisation or SEO is essential. For those who miss the boat they are likely to find their company website in the doldrums of search engine rankings, practically invisible to potential customers and hence drastically limiting online profits. Increasingly business owners have recognised that a dedicated optimisation strategy is needed for online success, this has meant an entire industry has been built up to accommodate the needs of companies looking to improve their online profile.

When undertaking optimisation it is vitally important for companies to commit themselves to the process. Ultimately SEO is not a set of predetermined actions that can be implemented once and then left alone. Optimisation is a constant process that must be both forward thinking and reactionary. Search engine algorithms, the way in which search engines work, constantly change and hence SEO professionals need to be able to stay ahead of developments.

Those that are new to optimisation often believe that results will come quick and fast. This however is a misconception; the majority of SEO professionals will state that the process takes time to achieve results. This is because search engines, no matter how efficient they are, must evaluate millions of pages so even if changes are made to a website, it can take weeks, even months for the engines to pick up on them.

One of the key elements of optimisation is to have a well constructed website that serves the needs of both the human user and the automated search engine spider. What has to be considered is if a site is to be listed on the first page of search engine listings, can it really warrant a place as one of the top ten sites in the world in that field. This is why designing your site with the dual aspects of human usability and optimisation. By doing this it should rank well in search engines but should also be able to convert the traffic generated from high rankings into profit.

Part of this dual aspect includes clear and concise design that allows the user to see exactly what they want and select it easily. Additionally clear design, if written well will also be clear to the search engines, meaning they can sort the information on the site easily.

Content, the written information on the site is also important; not only do search engines place great value on high quality; well written content. If this information is constructed correctly it can also work towards converting visits into sales, increasing profitability for the business.

When choosing an SEO company there are a number of strategies that should be employed. Firstly it is typically worth avoiding those optimisers who use cold calling tactics. A better method of finding an SEO company is to simply type a term such as ‘’search engine optimisation” into Google any one of the sites in the top five are likely to understand the process as they have applied their strategies to their own site successfully.

Hopefully this article has given a small insight into the world of SEO and how businesses can make the most of their website to maximise profits and online trade. With a logical approach and the right optimisation professionals it should be possible to achieve decent rankings.

Don\’t Waste Time With Exhibition Design, Get The Pro\’s In

February 28, 2009 | Read the story »

By Shaun Parker

Gaining a competitive advantage over your competitors has never been so important at this moment in time and one way to bring in new clients and custom is to open up new avenues in the business world via the ever popular mode of exhibitions.

There are hundreds of exhibitions in the UK every year catering for all types of business and are recognised as a very productive means of improving business relations and drawing in new business. There are more Business to business exhibitions than any other type of exhibition in the country which is a measure of just how important a business tool exhibitions can be for companies big and small.

So business exhibitions are popular and a good resource that is plain to see even in these difficult economic conditions, but what separates the wheat from the chaff is the ability to make that first impression, to entice people over to your exhibition stand and listen to what you have to offer.

Exhibition design is vital in order to stand out from the crowd, but more importantly to implement your company”s business objectives in a clear and well presented manner in order to win over prospective clients.

There are many specialist companies that offer bespoke exhibition design that will fit your company like a glove. Exhibition design companies can offer that innovation that you would not be able to come up with by yourself, so for that reason alone it will be a worthwhile investment.

The exhibition design process on offer by a specialist is extremely detailed with most design companies utilising 3D computer software that can show the client detailed design layouts of their exhibition stand throughout the design process which gives the client a clear insight into what the end result will be like. The use of this software is very effective in the design process as it keeps the client involved in the process and is a good measure of easily identifying such factors that the client may or may not deem a requirement for their exhibition stand.

The most effective exhibition stands are those that not only grab people”s attention but that can get a company”s message across, and those that do this in unusual and different, yet effective ways are the ones that stick in the memory.

Another time consuming factor concerning exhibitions is that the actual construction and setting up of exhibition stands can take up a lot of time so why not leave it to the experts? Many exhibition design companies also take responsibility for constructing the stands, which can be a complex task. Transportation of exhibition stands can be a logistical nightmare.

Exhibition design specialists will also offer their services during an exhibition so that if there are any problems with the exhibition stands, they will be on hand to offer their expertise. With health and safety standards to abide by, there is a lot of responsibility that goes with the design and erection of an exhibition stand.

Exhibition design is not as easy as some people may believe and if a company goes it alone it can be a drain on business resources, not just money but time. When you can get such polished results from those in the know without breaking the bank, why go it alone?

How to Avoid Local SEO Mistakes

February 28, 2009 | Read the story »

By scott gallagher

Local marketing on the internet definitely has its challenges. Obviously, there are several things to consider during the act of setting up your marketing campaign and there are several mistakes that can easily be made along the way. Although most eventually learn by trial and error, we have chosen to list a few of the more common mistakes to keep an eye out for below. By avoiding these mistakes, you can ensure that you are going to get the best value for your time and that the money that you spend during the promotion of your business is not simply being washed down the drain while you attempt to promote your business online.

1. Poor keywords: Ensure that you”re choosing the right keywords to target with your local online marketing campaign. The number one reason that an online business will fail is because they target the wrong keywords. Targeting the right ones ensures that after you implement all your other initiatives, that the traffic coming to your site is qualified and interested in your services.

2. Forgetting to build links: Building links from sites that are related either by virtue of industry and content or by geographic location can help your local marketing online by raising your profile in the search engines.

3. Making SEO the focus of your site: Decide what you want your site to project about your business and then try to optimize it, not the other way around. Content is more important than keyword density.

4. Use your headings: These are important for your search engine rankings.

5. Not bothering with a press release: A big mistake, because a good one will flood your site with traffic.

6. Not targeting locally: Don”t forget to include some local keywords in your SEO in order to ensure that the highest qualified traffic is finding your site.

7. Targeting TOO locally: The opposite to the last mistake is focusing your SEO too much on the locale and note enough on your products and services. This will result in no traffic finding their way to your page.

8. Targeting keywords with too much competition: If you try to attract traffic for a keyword that a thousand other sites are also trying to win, you will usually lose to sites with more experience, more links, or simply more money to spend on their online campaigns. Instead, choose tightly focused keywords to really get the traffic that you”re looking for on your site.

9. Poor Spelling and Grammar: This will make your local marketing webpage lose any vestige of professionalism or legitimacy. It looks shoddy, rushed, and people will not be coming back to your page if it is full of these types of mistakes. This is much more important than some realize.

10. Creating a Flash Page: Unless you happen to be a programming, design, or SEO guru, optimizing a Flash page presents a whole new set of challenges that you might be better off avoiding while starting a local marketing initiative online.

Money Making Is Now Easy Through Internet

February 28, 2009 | Read the story »

By Ranju Kumar

On the Internet, your growth rate will be much quicker because your audience is global, not limited to your physical location. Another bonus with online selling is that many products are informational, and don”t require the standard upfront investment that other companies do.

This is without a doubt the most instantaneous method for creating traffic to a site or link. In Pay per Click, the advertiser (you) places ads connected to keywords in surfer searches, or words that appears on the viewed page according to its content. Each time a surfer clicks on such an ad and is taken to the site selling the advertised product, the advertiser pays a certain sum that can range from $5 to $10 or more per click. This sum varies depending on the advertising program and the sum that you are willing to budget per click; there are smart ways to increase PPC exposure at low cost and high effectiveness.

The best-known PPC program is Google Ad Words, yet both Yahoo and Adbrite run similar, effective programs.

In a nutshell, affiliate marketing is an arrangement between an online merchant and affiliate, in which the affiliate earns a commission for generating sales, leads and/or clicks for the merchant”s web site.
Even if you”re interested in signing up with an established affiliate program, you should still set and try to maintain your own personal goals. While seasoned marketers have long-term success, those who sustain their victories in the marketplace know that they have to put in equal effort to building successful affiliate network.

You could cross-promote your product with other businesses” products in a package deal. You could also include an ad or flyer for other products you sell and have other businesses selling for you. You would just be trading insert ads.

You need to focus on money making activities that actually bring you money pay you well. Spend the time you allocate for your internet business productively don”t waste time unproductively. You can only do so if you practice self-discipline, cultivate strong purpose and have a clear goal. As the forum grows, the level of posting increases until paid posts isn”t necessary.

You can be paid to post comments on blogs much the same way you can be paid to post on forums. Pretty much the same criteria applies, the posts can”t be too short and have to be relevant to the subject matter.

There are too many sites which falsely represent that you will be paid cash for taking surveys, referring visitors, or accepting offers. Some of these offers require a credit card. You sign up for a free month of XYZ movies, get paid $15 for accepting the offer and provide your credit card number. If you don”t cancel the offer your credit will be billed, and you can”t cancel immediately, or you won”t be paid. Usually you have to reach a minimum level of earnings to receive a check or deposit to your Paypal account. And the minimum level is nearly impossible to earn. Some of the surveys can be completed quickly and some take an hour or so to complete.

You can easily do this by just writing articles and submitting them to e-zines or web sites for republishing. You can also write free e-books, reports, books, print magazine articles, auto responder courses, mini sites, etc.

Finding E-Book Content Ideas Using Free Tools

February 27, 2009 | Read the story »

By Scott Boyd

Once you know your niche market you will need to create enough content for your book. Hopefully much of that content exists in your head already, but if you need more content there are many great tools that you can use to help you.

EZINE ARTICLES

Go to EzineArticles and type in your keywords and review the articles that are returned at the top of the search results. Look at the keywords that the article is targeting and also what the article content is. What is the problem that it is providing a solution to? At the bottom of the article EzineArticles will list the top viewed articles in the category most related to your keyword that you searched for. These articles should be reviewed and analyzed as they are obviously providing readers with the information they need. Make a list of all the topics covered and from that list you will be able to create an index of topics in high demand by consumers. You can also check out the level of competition by reviewing the websites where the author is linking to in the resource box.

YAHOO ANSWERS

Go to Yahoo Answers and search for your keywords. Take note of the questions/needs/problems posters are looking for a solution to. This is a great way to refine your understanding of the problem that you will need to solve to generate sales. Record the questions your market is asking as these will provide you with topics for the articles that you will write about and submit to article directories after the launch of your eBook.

FORUMS

Go to forums related to your eBook topic and take notice of the most popular forum topics and threads. Consider including information in your eBook to appeal to these forum posters. Investigate the longest threads with the most passionate responses. This is where you can find a ton of content ideas to attract a large market of buyers. If your topic is technical, you can find many gems of information that would add great value to your eBook. Many people that buy your book will be pleased with the purchase if they find a few nuggets of information that help them.

AMAZON

Go to Amazon and research the topic selling books on your topic. Use the “Look Inside” feature to scan the index to get a feel for the content provided in the book. You can also purchase the books to further increase your knowledge of the topic before you start writing. The more you know about a topic the easier the words flow while typing. If you already wrote your eBook, you can still add nuggets of information learned at a later date.

CLICKBANK

Purchase the leading products in ClickBank and review their content. This is your competition, and if you aren”t a big name internet marketer, your goal is to provide a better and more valuable product. Offering a better product than the leaders will give you an opportunity to break into internet marketing quickly by building a reputation for quality products, which will lead to many affiliates and joint venture partners.

How to Start a Credit Repair Business and Keep Happy Customers Who Refer Their Friends and Family

February 27, 2009 | Read the story »

By Michael Citron

There are many items included in a consumer’’s credit report that may be incorrect. There are also many credit repair companies that claim they can remove any and every negative item from a consumer’’s credit report. That is not the case. You can help your customers legally correct:

Late Payments
Charge Offs
Foreclosures
Judgments
Repossessions
Personal Identification
Closed Accounts
Bankruptcies
Negative Settlements
Liens
Collections

The time it takes to remove negative credit varies from case to case, Tax Judgments, Liens, Bankruptcies are reported no differently and can be removed the same as late payments and unpaid bills, including Medical Bills and even Student Loans. It takes a minimum of one month and can take up to six months or more depending on how much negative credit your customer has.

Start by getting a copy of their credit report from each of the major credit reporting agencies - Equifax, Experian, Transunion. Once you”ve gotten your hands on their credit report, you will follow the trail and process the creditor used to report the derogatory item to the bureau. You have to analyze their credit history to identify items that are responsible for bringing your credit score down. Then you use your credit repair software to draft professional credit repair letters to dispute those negative items on your behalf. Your job is to wrestle with Equifax, Experian, and Transunion and creditors until the negative items are gone. Hopefully, you”ve purchased the right credit repair business software so your fighting is only a couple of points and clicks.

A large part of credit repair dispute letters sent directly from consumers are rejected for one reason or another. Consumers need your help to make headway with the credit bureaus. Credit dispute software with effective professional credit repair letter templates will make your job easier and get you referrals from happy customers.

Highly effective and professional credit repair letters have been proven over and over to work in correcting negative items on credit files. To keep your customers coming back once you”ve saved their credit rating by following these inside credit repair secrets, continue to offer credit repair advice and help them with new strategies for their future financial well being. You can even offer a credit repair forum on your website that you only have to monitor. Writing for the Internet Customer- 7 Points Business Owners Need to Know

February 27, 2009 | Read the story »

By Steve Wyrostek

We know that print readers read and web readers scan. But what else do we need to know about how to write for 21st Century Customer? What works for them? What moves them? Following are seven thoughts to keep in mind:

1.Hypertext Links remain the most used feature- However, you may want to consider not overdoing it. Too many links can be distracting. EzineArticles restricts them to 4 per article. That’’s a good place to start. A typical article word count is 400 to 700 words. An average web page has 593 words. So, you may want to use 3 to 4 links per article or page.

2. Print readers read and web readers scan- We cannot state this enough. In fact, a 2008 white paper entitled Not Quite the Average- An Empirical Study of Web Use by Harald Weinreich et.al,suggested that only about 20% of the words on an average 593 word web page, will actually be read.

3. Four seconds of words- That’’s the time you have to grab a reader’’s attention. It means good headlines rule. But headlines that work in traditional copywriting may have to be reworked for the web. This is because of search engines.

For example: the title- The top ten worst song lyrics I ever heard- works well for print writing. However for the internet you may want to rework it:
Lyrics- the ten worst I ever heard

This works because the word lyrics were searched 12,058 times while top ten got searched 173 times. So, the chances of your piece coming up on search engines increases if you lead with the word- lyrics.

4. Cold statistics- Most companies keep statistics. Use them. They can be great support to main themes. A word of caution on statistics, however- sprinkle, rather than flood them throughout your site. They can appear overdone.

5. Warm stories- If a good story exists on how the company got founded, use it. If there’’s a huge client, post it. If there’’s a compelling story about the company- tell it.

For example, I”m familiar with a company named Odd Bodd. It turns out Odd Bodd was the name of a character from a movie spoof of Frankenstein produced in the UK (the business owner was from there).

When the owner was a child, his sister tagged him with that nickname. It turned out to be the perfect name for the business (very Googleable!). That’’s a good story for their website.

6. Authentic samples- These act as testimonials. As business owners, you want to cultivate these. They”re usually easy to get. And when written correctly, they help convert clients. When you write them- make sure they are:

- Short (No more than three to five sentences)
- Compelling
- Authentic (Real words from real customers)

7. Simple vocabulary works best- Word has a feature after spell check called the Flesch-Kincaid score. These numbers tell you where the grade and readability levels for your piece fall. It will help you connect your words with your target prospect.

The average time visitors spend on a page with the 593 word average is about 43 seconds. The right words can make each second worth it.

Black Hat SEO: Not Worth It

February 27, 2009 | Read the story »

By scott gallagher

When you”re engaging in local internet marketing, it can sometimes seem like an extremely uphill battle. Often, people enter into the online world with their local business because they are having a hard time supporting themselves with just the business they can bring in locally alone. This leaves them with one alternative, which is to try and find more customers. Of course, the internet is great for that as it readily provides businesses all over the world with the opportunity to market to millions of individuals. However, starting from scratch online, when so many competitors are ranking so much higher in the search engines, can be frustrating.

Black Hat SEO refers to methods used by the more nefarious search engine optimization experts out there. This technique involves a number of different methods that are considered to be underhanded, sneaky, and generally against the rules by the web using population at large, as well as by the search engines themselves. A bit of good advice to anyone pursuing local internet marketing is to avoid any of these shady techniques at all costs.

Sometimes people are tempted by SEO practitioners who preach these black hat techniques because they promise faster or more amazing results. However, it is important to take a longer view in regards to your local internet marketing. Black hat SEO changes all the time, as to what is actually going to be effective.

One of the main reasons for that is that, as the search engines discover what people are doing, they change their algorithms to account for it. Not only does this result in the people”s sites, which are promoted through these techniques, going down in the rankings but, often times, the search engines will have them removed from their index altogether; leaving them out in the cold, so to speak. Therefore, if you worked day and night on your site to make sure that it was everything that you wanted it to be and then implemented Black Hat techniques to try to drive traffic to your site, you would likely end up regretting your choice over the long term because it is highly likely that your site would end up eventually being blocked.

Local internet marketing is all about an investment of time, effort, and yes, some money. However, you need to look at it the same way you would view any marketing campaign. The longer you stay at it, and the longer that you consistently put effort into promoting your site consistently moving it up through the rankings, the better your site will perform in the long run. The temptation of Black Hat SEO is always going to be there because there are always going to be people looking to take shortcuts to success. However, in reality, there are no shortcuts and attempting to take ones that bend or outright break the rules is only going to set your marketing efforts back further in the long run. It sounds cliche, but the fact is that slow and steady wins the race. By link building, content creation, and keyword optimization you can slowly raise your site to the top of the rankings for your respective keywords.

How To Drive Targeted Traffic To Your Website

February 26, 2009 | Read the story »

By Arvada Yates

Driving targeted traffic to your website can sometimes seem like a ginormous task, especially when you”re first starting out in online entrepreneurship. Many newbies start out by building a great looking website and then just sit around and wait for the visitors to come.

But it doesn”t work that way.

If you want your website to attract 2,000, 5,000 or even 10,000 visitors a day, you”ve got to develop a strategy or plan to actively and aggressively seek out that targeted traffic and continually give all those visitors a reason to come back. Here are three pointers to get you started with your own traffic strategy.

1. Keywords Attract Targeted Traffic

Any discussion about driving targeted traffic to your website must begin with keywords. Because keywords are the foundation of search engine ranking and visitor searches, they become the most important tool in your marketing arsenal. Any attempt to increase your targeted traffic must begin with keyword research, no matter what your overall traffic strategy might be.

Here”s a keyword tip: The first thing you should When you”re researching keywords is to look for keywords that address a problem. For example, if you”re selling an ebook on growing beautiful roses, look for keywords that address major rose problems such as:

* rose fungus
* rose pruning
* japanese beatles on roses

There”s a very good reason to approach your keyword research this way. People won”t go online looking for your ebook on roses. People will search online for answers to their specific problems. If they find your ebook while searching for an answer to a specific problem, then you have a good chance of selling them your ebook.

2. Turn Your Keywords Into Website Content

Once you”ve done thorough keyword research on your market or niche, then it”s time to start putting it to good use. One of the best and longest term uses for those keywords is to create keyword rich content for your website that will increase your search engine ranking and attract targeted traffic to your website.

Keep in mind that creating content for your website isn”t a one-time task. You must regularly create keyword rich content for your website on a variety of keywords related to your niche to continually bring in targeted traffic.

3. Get Other Sites To Link Back To You

Once you”ve created a high quality website full of great content related to your niche, the quickest and least expensive way to get into the top of the search engines and drive a lot of targeted traffic to your website is to get other high quality websites to link to you.

There are a variety of methods of doing this including link exchanges, starting an affiliate program, paid links, and just plain asking for a linkback. My favorite method of getting people to link to my websites is through article marketing because it creates a win/win for everyone involved.

Linking Tip: Links back to your website are most effective when you use your keyword as the anchor text of your backlinks.

I know the three strategies outlined above seem are pretty simple, but there”s no reason that marketing needs to be complicated to be effective. If you add these three strategies to your marketing, I guarantee that you”ll start driving a lot more targeted traffic to your website.
